Schwab has been doing in-house, native mobile development for several years but every business channel in Schwab is increasing their presence on the mobile platform. We are looking to grow a robust, engaged mobile development team that is passionate about delivering an excellent mobile experience for our users. Schwab’s ever growing mobile user base is asking for more features and more and interesting visualizations and interactions. This role is a people-leadership role that will be leading a team of eight+ mobile developers of all skill levels.

What you are good at

  • Communicate to staff about job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and counseling employees; initiating and coordinating systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Screen and hire hardworking and passionate mobile app developers of different skill levels: entry level, mid-level and senior staff.
  • Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Direct technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other group’s development managers.
  • Verify application results by conducting system quality audits of technologies implemented.
  • Preserve software assets by ensuring the team’s adherence to disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Recommend information technology strategies, by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.


What you have

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Five+ years of software development experience, mobile application or mobile web application development in your past experience is very desirable
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience with Agile or similar iterative development methodologies
  • Technical management experience; strategic planning, developing and handling the budget, coaching & mentoring technical team members
  • Good understanding of technical issues, designs, and engineering standard methodologies
  • Skillful in problem solving and cross-organization collaboration
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in enterprise systems development
  • Experience with financial services is desirable
