Today’s marketers need analytics to measure their impact, discover new opportunities, and spend their budgets wisely. Analytics teams need leaders who can mobilize talent against the top opportunities while looking outwardly for new ideas and the latest techniques. We are seeking a director to lead delivery against these needs in support of Schwab’s Retail Marketing business.


This position is an opportunity to lead a group of analytic consulting teams and to be the senior consultant for Schwab’s Retail Marketing area, all toward maximizing the business growth and impact resulting from marketing analytics. Our organization resides within Schwab’s centralized data and analytics organization of 240+, who work together to enable Schwab to compete on analytics and measurement – in particular, to understand client needs and goals better than anyone, and then to make data-driven, strategic decisions to drive business impact. The marketing analytics area involves a steady pipeline of interesting and challenging projects, including solving for attribution in the “cookie-less future,” leveraging the latest in journey and NLP analytics and shaping the organization that resulting from the combined teams from Schwab and TD Ameritrade

What you are good at

  • Advise Retail marketing on their data and analytics initiatives, directly as the most senior team and thought leader, and through direct reports who lead the teams aligned to each business unit within marketing 
  • Manage the overall data and analytics roadmap, including scoping, prioritization, issue resolution and execution. The roadmaps are also coordinated with those of other business units and with supporting Centers of Excellence, making collaboration and communication important to the process
  • Deliver thought leadership about creating business impact from marketing and analytics, including points of view to improve current methods and proactive ideation for new opportunities. This role requires strategic problem solving, plus curiosity and awareness of industry trends as the basis for exploring the “art of the possible.”
  • Develop talent by creating an engaging work environment, organizing teams for business impact and personal growth, and coaching to develop skills within the team
  • Collaborate with marketing leaders, data and analytics peers, and functional partners to generate insights and build capabilities
  • Manage executive relationships and represent the Data, Analytics and Insight organization in various business review, governance and decision-making forums

What you have

  • Significant relevant experience (10+ years) in analytics, including practical knowledge about quantitative methods, databases and tools, plus leadership experiences in influencing business processes and outcomes
  • Familiarity with marketing and advertising concepts, including brand measurement, campaign design and evaluation, marketing metrics, and channel attribution, plus awareness of the key challenges as marketing shifts increasingly to digital channels
  • Business acumen, including past success at translating analytic insights into tangible business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, recruit, retain and develop a high performing, highly engaged team
  • Strong communication and influencing skills needed to make insights relevant, recommend solutions and drive decision-making
  • Additional credentials such as experience in financial services, relevant advanced degrees and consulting experience

Colorado Compensation 

Target Total Compensation – 148,500 -249,900
