Your Opportunity

The Problem Management Senior Manager will report to the Technology Risk Management (TRM) Managing Director within the Operational Resilience (OR) team. This position will be responsible for coordinating with first and second line of defense partners to establish a Problem Management Oversight program for the TRM function.

 

The Senior Manager will be responsible primarily for Problem Management oversight and will assist in OR Policy, Standard and Procedure documentation and oversight, and the OR Program Maturity and Assessment initiatives designed to improve the firm’s resilience posture by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and technology-related governance processes.

 

What you are good at

  • Establish the TRM problem management program and provide ongoing oversight of the problem management process
  • Thoroughly understand the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Policy to manage the establishment of the problem management program and assist in the development and maintenance of OR related policies and standards
  • Provide a thoughtful, risk-based IT perspective, and assist in the execution of the OR oversight program including, but not limited to, policy compliance assessments and continuous monitoring
  • Establish and maintain program reporting to support risk identification and monitoring
  • Partner with first-line partners to achieve continuous operational improvement and timely response to risk related inquiries and requests
  • Continuously monitor for changes in the business that may affect the risk environment and, therefore, require possible changes to oversight activities
  • Identify themes, trends, and emerging risks and communicate to technology partners as well as leadership and applicable risk committees for awareness and action
  • Promote the increased use of data analytics techniques to evaluate data sets for trends and anomalies
  • Provide strategic and proactive consultation in identifying risk exposures and in evaluating solutions for internal control weaknesses and regulatory compliance issues
  • Address issues by gathering facts, developing potential solutions, figuring out the best options, and implementing an action plan to address the problem

What you have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • ITIL, CRISC or similar certification preferred
  • Understanding of the principles of Problem Management as an ITIL management practice area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively
  • Preferred experience in the majority of the following domains: IT Risk/Control or IT Audit, Information Security, Data Center Operations, IT Service Continuity Management, and Service Level Management
  • Understanding of three lines of defense model, preferably amongst a complex operational and regulatory environment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various data elements to articulate a story to leadership
  • Experience in authoring, maintaining and/or assessing compliance with risk policies, standards and/or procedures preferred
  • Preferred experience in risk management principles, methodologies, tools and governance principles in a financial services environment (RE tools: familiarity and experience working within GRC platforms, esp. IBM OpenPages big plus)
  • Understanding of applicable standards and requirements such as PCI, FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, etc. preferred
  • Preferred understanding of control frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory guidance, including: ISO 27001, FFIEC, COBIT, ITIL, and/or NIST
  • Strong social skills/ability to form relationships with peers across the three lines of defense model
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable operating independently, and be able to navigate with autonomy; provide updates on progress, re-confirm priorities, and seek to clarity/help in the event of roadblocks
  • Tableau or similar reporting experience a plus
