Your Opportunity

The Digital Services Finance team provides financial analysis and strategic decision support for Schwab’s newly formed Digital Services enterprise. The team’s objectives are to help business partners drive operational advantage and scale by supporting strategic decision making, developing financial benefits analysis and supporting the design and implementation of agile finance processes.

 

Brief description of role:

 

This role provides a terrific opportunity to partner directly with senior Digital Services Enterprise leaders and their counterparts across Schwab. This role is well suited to a candidate with experience collaborating across multiple functions and departments, in a fast paced iterative environment, generating practical strategic solutions in areas with no or little precedence and influencing to motivate change and results. The Senior Manager of Finance is a close strategic business advisor to the Digital Services leadership team, plays a critical role in providing decision support and analysis to inform digital transformation efforts and oversees the development and management of the Digital Services Enterprise annual financial operating plan.

What you’re good at

Day-to-Day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Collaborating closely with various leaders across Schwab to drive critical analysis in support of Schwab’s digital transformation efforts:
    • Return On Investment scenario analysis to inform and advise on tradeoff and investment optimization decisions
    • Identify, assess and present the financial impact of cross-enterprise operating advantage and scale opportunities
    • Financial analysis of new digital initiatives including assessment of estimated scale and efficiency benefits
    • Identify, define, and acquire cross-enterprise agreement and operationalize Key Performance Indicators
    • Articulate (written and verbally) investment value and recommendations for executive audience
  • Lead development and management of quarterly financial forecasts, month-end close, risks and opportunities processes and reporting:
    • Oversee and provide guidance to team on requirements, handle to required deadlines
    • Articulate (written and verbally) financial variances against plan, risks and opportunities including required reporting
  • Develop and implement proposals to enable agile at scale and meet agile finance process objectives

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of related experience in a finance or analytical role
  • Demonstrated experience applying critical thinking to deliver practical solutions and inspire change
  • Proactive self-starter and great teammate who can handle multiple deliverables of varying scope and complexity simultaneously and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines with little direct supervision in a very fast-paced, rapidly changing, time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrable leadership skills in a team setting, with the ability to influence and build alignment with partners at all levels
  • Very strong social skills and shown success collaborating with senior business partners
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations and present to leadership
  • Confident with ambiguity with an ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex dynamic environment
  • Proven superior analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of corporate finance theory, financial markets and financial statement analysis
  • Strong Excel skills, with an understanding of financial modeling standard methodologies

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Consulting experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Experience in financial services industry (brokerage, retail/commercial banking, asset management, etc.)
