  • Your Opportunity

    Our team is responsible for managing our 3rd party platforms (focused primarily on Mutual Funds and ETFs) – providing a positive experience for the Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a revenue stream which is vital to Schwab’s overall financial health.  To do this, we maintain a robust product offering (e.g. by adding new funds or resources to the platform), develop new tools and research for clients, build relationships with third-party asset management partners, and work effectively with outside firms to create a positive client experience.  

    What you’re good at

    Reporting into the Vice President, MF, ETF & 529 Platform Management, the Director will be an individual contributor responsible for developing strategies and leading projects that will help build and maintain Schwab’s industry-leading MF, ETF & 529 offers.  The Director will work closely with internal and external partners (including product and client experience teams, the Mutual Fund Relationship Management team and the Events & Education team) developing strategies to address changing industry trends, to evolve our business and economic model, pursue market growth opportunities and improve internal business processes and operations.  This role will also have the opportunity to work closely with the VP of the group to work on team engagement initiatives, foster stakeholder relationships and develop thoughtful business plans to deliver on our teams objectives.  The successful candidate must be energetic and enthusiastic about strategy, analytics and financial services.  They will be self-motivated, results oriented and able to independently lead major strategic initiatives.

    What you have

    • Significant work experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate development and/or internal strategy function; prior experience in financial services preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree; MBA and/or equivalent post-MBA level experience preferred
    • High degree of comfort dealing with ambiguity; comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
    • A strategic thinker with strong business judgment and analytical skills, who is able to problem solve as issues arise
    • Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently (independently and with teams), to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • Strong relationship building and partnerships skills; a strong team player
    • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability developing materials and effectively presenting to executive audiences
    • Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel
    • Preference for prior experience in Financial Services including experience with financial products, financial services technology and/or the retail brokerage industry
