    Charles Schwab & Co., Inc is currently seeking a Sr. Manager (ETL) with a passion for hands-on design/development and collaboration with our business partners. The ideal candidate will lead a team of analysts and developers to deliver new functionality on the Master data Management platforms. The Sr. manager must have prior hands on experience (number of years) in designing and executing Enterprise Data Warehouse, Master Data Management or Data Marts at an enterprise scale. Prior experience in developing design patterns for Big Data and Cloud solutions is a big plus.

    This role will lead a team with a wide range of technical skills which include Data Analysis, ETL (Informatica, Talend) ,  and modeling skills (SQL, ERwin) and ETL architecture. This role will guide the team in understanding the business use cases and help design master data solutions. This role will help manage priorities, budgets, staffing and skill development within the team. 

    What you’re good at

    The Manager of ETL and Master Data Management will work with business stakeholders and external technology partners to deliver data engineering solutions on both traditional RDBMS, big data or cloud platforms  This role will guide the team in understanding the strategic business drivers and influence solution design so it aligns to our long-term vision.  This role will help build and develop critical business relationships to drive confidence in our data capabilities.  This leader will also be expected to drive improvements across teams enabling high-performance.  Additionally, this leader will manage priorities, budgets, staffing and skill development across the organization.  

    • Build and develop business relationships with our stakeholders
    • Assist team members in interpreting scope, estimating impact/work and approving the estimates for distribution. 
    • Lead a team of 5-7 direct report FTEs; provide feedback for individual development
    • Advise on technical decisions including architecture approach, solution design and detailed troubleshooting. 
    • Monitor and recommend improvements to the team’s SDLC while contributing to the team’s adoption of Agile Methods (Scrum &/or Kanban).      
    • Ensuring projects are progressing according to plan by resolving issues or obstacles. 
    • Building deep understanding of design patterns for Master Data Management ETL, and capabilities.

    What you have

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
    • 10+ years of IT project experience in technical, project and offshore vendor management capabilities
    • Demonstrated 6+ years’ experience as an analyst /developer/architect on data platforms
    • Managing a team of 5-7 FTE and 5-15 vendor resources and provide feedback for Associate development.
    • Strong Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, OLAP Cubes, Advanced Fact, and Dimension Table Techniques, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Bus Matrix Mapping) and various data modeling techniques
    • 3+ year experience, both hands-on and in management roles  in Master data Management / Data Warehousing / Information Management
    • Strong Data Analysis, deep SQL, relational database constructs for profiling and analyzing the data
    • Project management experience/knowledge, with ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions; solid experience and understanding of Agile Methods
    • Professional experience leading teams that built distributed scalable enterprise-class applications using Informatica suite of products, SQL Server and Mango DB platforms
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations
